“Yet while this singular production evokes the Great Depression with uncompromising bleakness, it is ultimately the opposite of depressing. That’s because McPherson hears America singing in the dark. And those voices light up the night with the radiance of divine grace.” - New York Times

Titled after Dylan’s classic folk track, Girl from the North Country debuted in 2017, opening at The Old Vic before moving to London's West End. The limited run was a great success, clinching three wins at the Laurence Olivier Awards.

The musical then traveled to the United States in 2018 at New York's Public Theatre. Here, it won a prized Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical from the Outer Critics Circle Awards. In 2019, the show finally played on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre. Despite its run cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was nominated seven times at the Tony Awards, earning a Best Orchestrations win.

This 2024, the jukebox musical will visit the Golden Gate Theatre for its new series of shows. The historic stadium promises crowds a truly unforgettable performance thanks to its comfortable seats, stunning backdrop, and top-of-the-line theatrical amenities.
