It is uncontested: Cher’s life and career are unparalleled, and in her own words, “I’ve lived too long and done too much, and so it’s like it should be an encyclopedia."
The good news is that Cher has completed the first part of her autobiography, “Cher: The Memoir, Part One," set to be released on 19 November 2024 – and San Francisco, you’re in luck, because the Goddess of Pop herself will be coming to the Golden Gate Theatre on 4 December 2024, to discuss the intimate details of her life and career in person for one night only!
The once-in-a-lifetime event will take on the format of a conversation, also including a Q&A moderated by the iconic music critic Joel Selvin.
Tickets are priced to go from only $173, which includes an unsigned copy of the book. Tickets are already flying like crazy, so don’t snooze – get yours now and experience an explosive evening with Cher!
It is undeniable: Cher’s life story can only be told by one person – Cher herself - and that is exactly what she intended to do. When Cher teased in 2017 about writing and publishing a memoir about her remarkable life and career, she meant business. Now, “Cher: The Memoir, Part One” is set to hit the shelves on 19 November 2024, with the second part to be published in 2025.
Audiences across the United States will now have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the only woman to top the Billboard charts in seven consecutive decades live and in person, as she reveals intimate details about her unique and unparalleled life and career - from her noteworthy beginnings through childhood to meeting and marrying Sonny Bono, their highly complicated relationship that made them world famous but eventually drove them apart. As in “Cher: The Memoir, Part One," the evening is set to highlight the honesty and humor the world has come to love about her, while explaining how the “diamond in the rough succeeded with no plan and little confidence to become the trailblazing superstar the world has been unable to ignore for more than half a century.”
The series of five events is set to kick off in New York in November 2024, visiting some major venues before wrapping up in San Francisco at the amazing Broadway-style, 2,297-seat Golden Gate Theatre. The venue’s intimate, informal feel is perfect for an evening of stories, anecdotes, and revelations by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Seating is spread across three floors: the orchestral floor, mezzanine, and balcony with additional loges, ensuring a seat suitable to every taste and budget.
Cher will not be performing any of the iconic songs that made her one of the best-selling artists of all time, but the evening promises to be unlike anything else you’ve ever experienced – honest, explosive, and intimate!
Cher rose to fame in 1965 as one half of the iconic folk rock duo, Sonny & Cher, before embarking on a highly successful solo career that spawned countless hits, such as “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)”, “Dark Lady”, “If I Could Turn Back Time”, “Believe”, and “Gypsys, Tramps and Thieves”. During her illustrious career, she racked up numerous awards, including Golden Globe Awards, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, a World Music Legend Award, and an Academy Award.
