Cuban Music for the Next Generation

Following last year's sold-out run of shows, The Buena Vista Orchestra is coming back for a set of special shows this year. With 55+ additional dates newly announced, it's a huge run as they share Cuban music to both their longtime fans and a new generation of listeners. Led by original orchestra leader, composer, and trombonist - Jesus "Aguaje" Ramos, the musical ensemble will see original members Emilo Senon Morales Ruiz on piano, Fabian Garcia on bass, and Luis "Betun" Mariano Valiente Marin on Congas & Bongo come together once again.

This reunion will be epic. Throughout The Buena Vista Social Club's history, they have a catalog of great hits, deep cuts, and musical wonders that dive deep into the rich traditions and culture of Cuban music. Under Ramos' direction, key figures that have been with the ensemble have kept the legacy alive. Last year's performances saw new stage productions and a repertoire that packs their best compositions, hits, and crowd favorites. Following the tour, they released a surprise "USA TOUR 2024 - 12 LIVE RECORDINGS" via SSK Records. It's been a long time since their music has been available on CD/Vinyl, so this one's surely a special treat.

Kicking off the U.S. tour this summer, it's the best season to experience Cuban music in its finest form through Ramos' direction. With rich history dating back to 1996 when they released their first record, they immediately captured the public eye. Scoring a documentary, a Grammy Award, an Academy Award, and a ton of critical acclaim, this musical collective is definitely going down history books.

A Legacy that Lives On

Carrying the legacy forward today, this is you chance to experience their life-changing music on stage. With timeless notes of son cubano, bolero, and danzon, it's an authentic dose of Cuba's vibrant music culture.

"My dream was to come to the US with the Buena Vista Orchestra to play the music that shaped my life," Ramos shared via an official release. "When I met Steven Machat, I said that this dream was somewhere over the rainbow and he told me to let us see that dream together, and we will build the rainbow that will get you there."

Today, Ramos is living the dream with a whole pack of musicians who became part of the story. A signature track added to the set is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", very fitting indeed!

"I felt it was important to share this splendid Cuban music with the world," said Steven Machat, who further explains that it's the right time to share the nation's multi-cultural sound to new generations. As an ensemble that made headlines across waters, it's more than just music. It's a vibrant way to experience new cultures that pack rich history.

Soulful melodies, captivating beats, and inspiring stories, it's all seen live on stage as The Buena Vista Orchestra kicks off a huge tour this summer. Don't miss out by booking your tickets now!
